Smart Cities: Make the City appealing – Smart Citizen and Smart Economy

“Do more with less” is nowadays a key driver of Local Government initiatives across Europe: which initiatives can enable innovation and better services under the pressure of the economic situation that may affect decisions and the availability of the necessary budgets? How digital and mobile technologies are offering a proven way to reshape the way public services are delivered to improve services with greater transparency, access and openness on reduced budgets.
Closely linked to the “Do more with less” theme is the theme of “Smart Cities”. While keeping strict control on their budgets Cities capable to implement their vision on how to be smart are the ones that will succeed in developing the economy, in making the life of citizens easy and pleasant in a sustainable environment. This requires the capability to become “open”, to collaborate with citizens and enterprises and to enable this approach by driving the necessary initiatives.
