Digital competencies initiatives in Tuscany: no one left behind

Tuscany Region is striving as the whole Country to spread over the population the necessary basic and advanced digital competencies enabling a better life, more efficient and fairer access to essential public services.

The main lesson learned in these months is that no one must be left behind from digitalization, even those living in inner countries or alone, being the younger family moved to the urban areas.

Another key element to be considered is that digital competencies cannot be addressed by only one part of the Administration, being it a Region or a Municipality.

That is why Tuscany Region developed its Regional Strategy for Digital Culture and Competencies as a result of many Regional Departments collaboration and initiatives. Different actions on 4 main axes target companies, school, training of public and private employees, new job profiles of “digital facilitator” or “expert in digital agriculture”, promotion of available regional and local public services.
