2022 Larissa – Secondary school education for a sustainable life – Project ECOSTEAM
The ECOSTEAM project was funded by the European community for the development of an innovative Learning Methodology that increased students’ awareness about water, waste, energy, transport management, and adaptation and mitigation practices to face climate change. The connection with the schools’ curricula is the use of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) through the ECOSTEAM methodology. The project is coordinated by CISPEL, the association of local public service companies operating in Tuscany (Italy) and currently involves Italy, Croatia, Greece, Israel and Germany due to the presence of MCE, an active partner in the dissemination of project outputs.
Schools, municipalities, research bodies and utilities are effective partners of the project. Together they will collaborate to create the Learning Methodology and related classroom implementation tools. The participation from regions of the world that are different from each other guarantees a multiplicity of interesting situations and case studies for the development of a school that breaks down the borders between nations and opens to the whole world.
In addition to the innovative methodology, the project will create a Digital Library with educational resources and Learning Units from all the stakeholders who want to contribute to the project by sending educational resources on water, waste, energy, transport management and sustainable solutions.
