Lars Greifzu

Biography

Lars Greifzu studied Electrical Engineering at the Technical University Dresden, Germany. After finishing his studies, he worked in an enterprise in the production and export of switchyards for Middle East and Africa. Since 1990 he has been working in the ICT sector, at first as a sales executive for IT gear and construction equipments for telcos and the railway in Eastern Germany.
In 1998, he became part of the administration of the city of Leipzig as an executive manager for operation of servers as well as the networking and communication systems. In this role, he was responsible to establish the IT-System for 14 “citizen offices” in the city of Leipzig and to integrate all the sites of 12 municipalities which became part of the city after an administrative reform.
From 2001, after outsourcing the ICT department and founding Lecos, he is a member of the management board of Lecos GmbH in different roles – operation, sales, networking and strategic development. Today, relevant themes to him are the implementation of the “Online Access Act” and Smart Cities. He is member of the Organising Committee of Major Cities of Europe since 2004.
